Frances Coombe has been the president of Voluntary Assisted Dying South Australia (VADSA), as a volunteer, for 27 years, and has worked tirelessly as an advocate for people’s right to choose to end their suffering through VAD. She became involved in VAD advocacy when she realised that, despite optimal palliative care, some people do not die peacefully and are effectively forced to suffer without the choice of VAD. Prior to her role in VADSA, Frances worked in junior primary education for 10 years.
