Ilsa has over twenty years of experience in human services and education, most of which has included a focus on integrated spiritual care. Ilsa is currently a director on the board of Palliative Care Australia, chair of the Australian Association of Gerontology Victorian Executive Committee and CEO of Optometry Victoria South Australia, and previously served as CEO of peak body Meaningful Ageing Australia from 2016 to 2022. Whilst at Meaningful Ageing, Ilsa led the development of the popular ‘See me. Know me.’ campaign and supporting materials, in addition to creating more than twenty resources to assist aged care services understand and respond to the spirituality of older people. This work was built on ten years in spiritual care leadership including, at various stages, a position on the board of Meaningful Ageing (previously PASCOP), as well as clinical pastoral education supervision and various senior roles at Baptcare.
