Achieving an Outstanding rating on your CQC inspection is no mean feat. It requires a lot of hard work, determination and dedication from both the home manager and their staff. Training is a key aspect to any social care setting and contributes a great deal to a home’s potential outstanding status. That’s why we are proud to announce that 3 of our members have recently achieved Outstanding status in their latest CQC inspections. These homes are Bradford Council, Wren Hall and Ashbourne Lodge, part of the Milford Care Group.
Bradford Council: Bradford Home Support (also known as Bradford Enablement and Support Team, BEST), is registered to provide personal care and support to people at home. They received outstanding in 2 of the categories.
“The management team was extremely responsive to any suggestions for improvement. They acted immediately to make changes which were communicated to staff by way of their phones. For example, a suggestion had been made about specific training for staff about delirium. Within 24 hours the management team had accessed information from a reputable source and added a training package to the suite of training available to staff on their phones”. From CQC Report
Wren Hall: Wren Hall Nursing Home is registered to provide accommodation for up to 54 people who require nursing or personal care, the majority of whom are living with dementia. They received outstanding in all 5 categories.
“Staff had been provided with a comprehensive induction into the service, and the training they needed to support people exceptionally had been completed. Staff spoke highly of the training provided. One explained, “I really, really enjoy it here. The training I have done has really brought me out of my shell and helped me find my voice.” From CQC Report.
Milford Care: Ashbourne Lodge is a nursing home providing personal and nursing care to 50 older people. Ashbourne Lodge, part of the Milford Group, is the only care home in Derbyshire to achieve the 4 out of 5 outstanding rating from the CQC.
“People received effective care based on best practice. People benefited by being cared for by staff who were motivated and encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge. The staff spoke passionately about the training opportunities provided”. From CQC Report.
